Kaiyo Chapter 1
I love and appreciate my readers more than they will ever know—
…So when a reader not only takes the time to read a Kaiyo story but also decides to share how much they enjoyed the adventure — there is nothing sweeter. As an author I am always looking for feedback as a way to improve my writing. When publishing my first book I didn’t know what to expect once it was out there in the hands of the reading world, but I was truly surprised!
Since February of this year when Kaiyo - The Lost Nation was available for purchase, I have been touched by the number of people who have both personally reached out to me, as well as those who have posted reviews on Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, Goodreads, Walmart, and Kaiyo’s instagram and Facebook pages. Reading your reviews has encouraged me to continue with the Kaiyo saga.
So, if you are curious about reading the Kaiyo Stories, or have written a review — this post is for you! I have collected my top 10 favorite reviews as a shoutout to those who shared their thoughts in a review (THANK YOU!). This is also for those of you who haven’t had a chance to read Kaiyo but would like to know more. So, without further adieu…
The Top 10 Kaiyo Reader Reviews:
1.Lauren Smyth - Blog Review
“Kaiyo - The Lost Nation is the first book in a series which is certain to leave you wanting more. Fast-paced and filled with intense action scenes, there's never a dull moment reading this book. The story is told in first person through the eyes of each McLeod - Sam, Susan, Libby, Dean, and Grace - and the unknown hunter called the Tracker. This, coupled with intensely described battle scenes, draws you, the reader, into the story until you live each moment vividly and empathize with the characters. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys intense action paired with subtle, thought-provoking themes!”
2. Amber Perry - Good Reads- (5 stars)
“Wonderful read, I blew through it in 2 days -- couldn’t put it down! I read the author’s bio and he talks about how the stories were inspired by his own family. So I checked out their instagram and it was so cool!! They do fun giveaways and keep me up to date on the publish dates for the second book!”
3. Ian Hatfield - Goodreads -( 5 stars)
“This book was 10/10, I can’t wait for the next book to be published!! Cliff is such a talented author, the storyline reminds me of like a contemporary Narnia, but with bears, and a family that will capture your heart. What an awesome read-- definitely recommend!”
“In Kaiyo The Lost Nation, Cliff Cochran has created a brilliant rendering of a land many of us once dreamed about. This is a land of adventure with denizens that include animals that think like humans and humans with hearts big enough to embrace the unusual. Having read this book twice, I am struck by its ability to yet again fascinate, intrigue, and provoke questions about the mysterious. Kaiyo is a "must read!"
5. Anonymous- Amazon Verified Purchase- (5 Stars) This is his first book?! No way.
“I’m not lying when I say I finished this book in less than 16 hours. It wasn’t a difficult task visualizing the characters and the home setting. I never quite knew what was going to happen next, and I often caught myself imagining what it would be like to be there with those characters, in the moment. I recommend this book for anyone who yearns to be taken to a familiarly unfamiliar place. Good job, Mr. Cochran.”
6. Anonymous- Amazon Verified Purchase- (5 Stars) Cliff’s work is up there with the likes of Tolkien and Lewis.
“ Simply amazing. Cliff presents a work of art that is truly 1 of a kind. His ability to build a fictional universe with non-fictional elements left me thoroughly intrigued and entertained. The attention to detail and research this book had to require is astounding. It has been a long time since a book captivated my attention the way this book has. The universe Cliff has created is up there with the likes of Tolkien and Lewis and left me wanting more.”
“I don’t read many books, has to be of interest right from page one; well this book was just that. I had a feeling I’d enjoy it since I love animals so much; especially the wild animals. They are very fascinating to me and very smart. What I really enjoyed was the introduction of each character; left you wondering on some of who or what they were; Tracker was one of those. I couldn’t read the pages fast enough each time this one came into the story. Tracker was also my favorite character. Even if the story was fictional, I think the author brought out some real life characteristics in each animals behavior and put them into play in the story. I really enjoyed how the animals and people interacted with each other; lessons learned along the way, with appreciation and respect for each other. If you love animals and have an appreciation for them, this is truly and excellent read. Can’t wait to read the next one.”

“ I wanted to tell you guys about this amazing new release by @kaiyobooks. It’s a homegrown YA thriller that has a heart of gold and a message that really resonated with me: Family is at the heart of everything, and when you really believe in that, and the power of faith to bring people together, you can tackle just about anything. Can’t wait for the second book in this series!!!! Have you guys read it yet?”

This book is definitely one of my top 5 best reads! The natural and spiritual concepts are spot on, and I am very eager to see what the author Cliff decides to do with the next book in the series! ”
