I am writing a novella (Partisans) that is set in a near-future, post-rapture United States. The story does not focus on the McLeods from the Kaiyo Stories precisely because Partisans is set after the rapture. The McLeods and most of their human friends are gone. Read MoreThis theme is prevalent throughout the entire series, but most specifically in Defectors. From the story's onset until the end, Kaiyo, the McLeods, and their human and animal allies, face tremendous trouble precisely because of their love for each other and their love for Christ.
